SIMBA I Events

SIMBA I events aimed to create closer EU-emerging market cooperation on more specific ITS, road infrastructure and vehicle development activities. The selected areas are expected to have a large impact on future road transport cooperation within SIMBA’s focused regions.
 
Participants had the unique chance to establish contacts with other ITS players, infrastructure and vehicle maker practitioners and form new networks. This in turn helped the subsequent forming of partnerships to supply comprehensive transportation solutions using different technologies and applications. Above all, they served as useful platforms for the exchange of experience and “best practices”.
 
Regional Priority Workshops involved European and local stakeholders (experts from research institutes, authorities, industries and SMEs in the field of ITS, infrastructure and vehicle technologies) to discuss and prioritise research areas that are in line with their national policies and identify areas and themes suitable for international cooperation.

 These meetings were used to clarify road transport problems, discuss policies and improvement targets for each region.

National Events were follow-up activities to the Regional Priority Workshops and included a large number of stakeholders to discuss themes within the regional priority areas identified for each region.
