SIMBA EU Events

Other than the project partners, several organisations are already carrying out R&D in the areas of infrastructure, ITS and automotive technology development in Europe. ERTICO and the other European partners will ensure that links with these entities are established. These include organisations such as: ERTRAC, CLEPA, EARPA, OECD, the joint OECD-CEMT Research Transport Committee, EUREKA, European Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology Platform (HFP), and others.

The Final SIMBA European Event took place at the ERTICO Conference Room in Brussels on 25 February 2008. Final results from the project were exposed. The main outcome was the definition of a way forward through the presentation of the 2008 Activity Plan for SIMBA Working Groups. The main focus was given to the elaboration of cooperation project proposals in ITS, infrastructure and automotive fields.

A European Priority Workshop hosted by ITS Denmark was held in June 2007 with SIMBA’s European partners and necessary stakeholders to discuss European research initiatives and policy and Europe’s interest in the other SIMBA countries. ITS Denmark hosted this meeting and used its well-established network to invite more than 40 key stakeholders including small and medium-sized enterprises in the area of road transport.
