At this time several ITS initiatives are underway within India. However, most of these programs address partial elements of a broader solution that is required to unlock both public and enterprise value.
With significant growth in the communications, automotive, computing and IT industries in India, there is a looming opportunity for India to take the lead in Infotronics, both within India and with developing economies globally. There is also the high likelihood of other, “home grown science experiments” that are being conducted, each with different applications and levels of success. However, there is no common roadmap and operational blueprint that can align these disparate initiatives in a manner that can unlock value and vault India into a leadership role in this arena. SIAM has initiated a study for preparing the Roadmap on Automotive Infotronics for India. Dr. Anand Iyer of PRTM Consulting has been hired by SIAM for conducting this study to develop the blue print for India. The Blue Print covers the current scan of all the ITS Initiatives being carried out in various States. The current Infotronics Statistics and Supporting Data is also covered in the Blue Print.
