EU-Russia Road Infrastructure Research Cooperation


Creation date: 24 October 2008


 One of the first activities in the EU-Russia cooperation, in the infrastructure part, is the organization of a workshop in Moscow. The workshop jointly organized by the Forum of European National Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL) and the Russian Professional Association in Vehicle Prevention (PAIRP) will take place in Moscow on the 28th of November, 2008. It will bring together European and Russian experts in the field of road infrastructure to work in cooperation and research activities. Russian and EU Stakeholders will use this workshop to discuss priorities research areas and identify themes suitable for international cooperation.
 
The one day event will include a keynote address by a representative of DG Research of the European Commission on the need of international cooperation in road transport research. Other speakers on the Programme will include the Secretary General of FEHRL, Steve Phillips, on building partnerships for road transport research, and the Coordinator of SIMBA II in Russia, Vladmir Kruchkov.
 
Other presentations are expected from EU and Russian researchers and stakeholders on priorities for cooperation within road infrastructure.
