Cause not known in Moloto Road bus crash

Four people died and 62 others were injured when their bus overturned on Moloto road in Kameelsdrift outside Pretoria on Wednesday morning, paramedics said.

Four of the injured people were taken to hospital in a critical condition, 12 were seriously injured while 46 others were being treated for minor injuries, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha.

 

"They were all transported to the Moot Arcadia and Pretoria East hospitals," he said.

The cause of the 5.20am accident was not known.

 

Two weeks ago, ten people burned to death after a bus caught fire following a collision with a truck on the same road. Twenty-four people were seriously injured. Most of the bodies were burned beyond recognition after the bus crashed.

 

On October 10, eleven people were killed when a taxi overturned on Moloto Road and several others were injured. - Sapa
